Where It All Started
Shellpo Traders Co. was founded by a former contractor who was fed up with the quality of professional tools on the market. After years of dealing with equipment that couldn’t hold up on the job, he decided to build something better.
What started in 1992 as one contractor’s frustration has grown into a wholesale hardware company serving distributors across the Northeastern United States. We’ve built that foothold the honest way: primarily through word of mouth, one contractor at a time.

Shellpo Tools is a family owned and operated small business. We’re not a corporation — we’re the same people who answer the phone, pack the orders, and stand behind every product we sell.
Being small means we know our customers by name, and we like it that way.
Quality Is Never a Compromise
Our rule is simple: if something isn’t high quality, we don’t pursue it. Every item in our catalog has to meet the standard we’d expect on our own job sites. If it’s not built to last, it doesn’t make it into the lineup.
We’d rather carry fewer products we’re proud of than fill a catalog with things we wouldn’t use ourselves.
